Event 1 - Monday 23rd October 2017
Instructors Laurence Blackburn and Alex Hicks. SW F4 - 5 occasional drizzle, AM theory, wall of sailing and rig boats. Sail in area A off pontoon X4 Pico's, beam reach reefed mains, coming alongside, upwind sailing and follow my leader. Ashore de-rig and de-brief.
Event 2 - Tuesday 24th October 2017
Instructors Laurence Blackburn & Alex Hicks SW F4 - 5, fair. AM theory, weather, tides, knots, 5 E's followed by dry drills. sail in area A off pontoon X5 Pico's focus on upwind sailing, 5E's and bearing away, coming alongside, upwind / downwind followed by a shallow triangle. Ashore, de-rig and de-brief.
Event 3 - Wednesday 25th October 2017
Instructors Laurence Blackburn and Alex Hicks. SW F3 Overcast and dry. AM brief and weather check, Theory of Nav using charts, Lat and Long. Rigging Jib onto a Pico and rigging a Bahia. Tacking dry drills. Experience sailing out harbour, X3 pico's X1 Bahia. Area C Triangle course, crews rotated, follow my leader working on improving 5E's. Sail in and return BHYC, de-rig followed by de-brief.
Event 4 - Thursday 26th October 2017
Instructors Laurence Blackburn and and Alex Hicks. SW F2 - 3 Overcast. Am theory 5E's Recap corse made good upwind and rules of the road. Introduction to race starts and sailing at BHYC. Sail out of harbour practice in X3 pico's and X1 Bahia to area C. Sail triangle working on course made good. Crew rotations re Bahia. Wind dropped all towed back into BHYC. De-rig, store boats and de-brief.
